Product Description

Kudos Thermo Layer Turnout Rug 300g

The Kudos Thermo Layer Turnout Rug 300g from LeMieux is designed to keep your horse warm without restricting movement. By concentrating insulation over key muscle groups rather than adding unnecessary bulk, this innovative turnout rug provides exceptional comfort in cold, wet weather. Whether your horse is turned out all day or spending longer periods in the field, it delivers reliable protection while allowing complete freedom to move naturally.

Built for demanding winter conditions, this premium rug combines advanced waterproof technology with a clever self-righting design that stays correctly positioned as your horse moves. As a result, your horse remains comfortable, dry and protected throughout the day.

Benefits

Winter turnout places high demands on both horse and rug. Therefore, LeMieux has engineered this model to retain warmth where it matters most. The graduated 300g thermobonded fill concentrates insulation across the shoulders, back and hindquarters, helping maintain muscle warmth while reducing excess weight around the body.

Meanwhile, the patented two-part skirt allows unrestricted shoulder and hind leg movement by removing the tension often created by traditional turnout rugs. Consequently, your horse can graze, play and move comfortably with less risk of rubbing. The self-righting cut also helps the rug stay correctly positioned, even after rolling, giving you added confidence throughout the day.

Features & Materials

The rugged 1680 Denier ballistic waterproof outer shell is cut from a full-width panel to minimise seams and reduce the chance of leaks. Furthermore, the durable fabric withstands everyday field use while protecting against wind and rain. Inside, the soft 210T antibacterial and anti-static lining helps keep the coat smooth, clean and comfortable.

The angled 45° T-bar front closure provides a secure fit without creating pressure across the shoulders. A padded neck opening increases comfort while grazing and offers additional weather protection. Moreover, reflective LeMieux safety strips improve visibility in low light, while the detachable neck offers flexible coverage. This rug is also compatible with the complete LeMieux Rug System, allowing additional liners, necks and bibs to be added as required.

How It Works / Care / Safety

The graduated insulation concentrates warmth across your horse’s major muscle groups while reducing unnecessary weight around the lower body. Therefore, your horse stays warm without sacrificing freedom of movement. Always ensure the rug is fitted correctly before turnout and check all fastenings regularly for a secure fit.

For best results, remove excess mud before washing and machine wash according to the manufacturer’s instructions using a suitable rug wash. Allow the rug to air dry naturally and avoid excessive heat. Furthermore, inspect straps, buckles and stitching regularly to maintain safe and reliable performance throughout the season.
