Benefits

First and foremost, this rug keeps turned-out horses cosy and dry. The 200g polyfill insulation provides essential warmth during cold, wet days. Meanwhile, the 600 denier ripstop outer resists tears and everyday wear.

Because the outer features a PFC-free ShireTex® durable water repellent finish, you get sustainable weather protection without harmful chemicals. Therefore, you can protect both your horse and the environment.

Key benefits include:

• Waterproof and breathable protection

• 200g polyfill for reliable warmth

• Deep shoulder gussets for unrestricted movement

• Tail flap for added coverage

• Fully lined interior for comfort and coat care

• WarmaRug compatible for extra insulation

While many rugs focus only on durability, this design balances comfort, protection, and flexibility.

How It Works / Directions

The Highlander Original 200g Turnout uses a waterproof 600D ripstop outer with taped seams to block rain effectively. At the same time, the breathable fabric allows moisture vapour to escape. As a result, your horse stays dry from both rain and sweat.

For best fit and performance:

• Secure the twin buckle chest fastenings evenly

• Adjust cross surcingles for a snug, comfortable fit

• Attach the adjustable fillet strap

• Use integrated leg strap loops if required

• Layer with a 100g or 200g liner for extra warmth

When temperatures drop further, simply add a compatible liner to upgrade insulation.

Safety

Safety and comfort go hand in hand. The adjustable fittings ensure a secure fit, reducing rubbing or slipping. In addition, deep shoulder gussets support natural movement in the field. The rug is fully lined, which helps maintain coat condition and minimise friction.

This turnout rug uses tested materials and trusted construction standards, giving you confidence in daily use.
