Product Description

Cohesive Bandage

Shires Cohesive Bandage is a practical first aid essential for the yard, tack room or competition kit. Its breathable, stretchy construction provides lightweight compression where required, while the durable material offers reliable support during everyday first aid. Moreover, it sticks securely to itself rather than skin or hair, helping prevent the discomfort and pulling associated with traditional adhesive bandages.

Whether you are preparing your horse’s first aid kit or replacing used supplies, this self-adhering bandage is a useful addition. It can also be carried easily in a grooming or competition bag for situations that require quick and convenient application. In addition, explore our first aid essentials to keep your yard kit well stocked.

Benefits

The Shires cohesive bandage offers a simple and comfortable way to provide lightweight compression where needed. Because it adheres to itself, you can wrap it securely without relying on adhesive that sticks directly to the horse’s skin or hair.

Its stretchy design also makes application straightforward, helping the bandage conform around different areas. Furthermore, the breathable material supports comfortable use while the durable construction stands up to practical stable and yard demands. As a result, it is a versatile choice for everyday first aid preparation.

Features & Materials

This self-adhering bandage combines stretch, durability and breathability in a lightweight format. It provides approximately 2 metres of length when unstretched and can extend to around 4.5 metres when fully stretched.

The 10cm width makes it suitable for a range of first aid applications. Meanwhile, the cohesive construction allows the material to grip itself without sticking to hair or skin. Each bandage comes as a single item, so you can purchase the quantity needed for your first aid supplies.

How It Works / Care / Safety

Wrap the bandage around the required area, allowing the material to overlap as you go. Stretch it gently and evenly rather than pulling it excessively tight. Therefore, take care to avoid restricting circulation or creating unnecessary pressure.

This bandage is designed for external first aid use. However, it should not replace professional veterinary advice when a horse has a significant injury. Keep the bandage clean and dry before use, and store it in a suitable first aid kit away from excessive moisture.
