Red Mills Horse Care Ultra Mix

Connolly’s RED MILLS Horse Care Ultra Mix is a cereal-grain-free, ultra-low-starch conditioning feed for horses that need extra calories without a high starch intake. The palatable coarse mix combines digestible fibre and oil with quality protein and essential amino acids. As a result, it provides a useful source of slow, controlled energy for performance and stud horses.

Furthermore, this conditioning mix supports muscle function, post-exercise recovery, topline and overall condition. It also helps maintain healthy gastric balance and hindgut function, while supporting bone strength, immunity and hoof quality. In addition, it comes in a convenient 20kg bag. Explore our horse feed range for complementary feeding options.

Benefits

This low-starch formula suits horses that require conditioning support without relying on cereal grains. Therefore, it can be particularly useful for performance horses with demanding workloads and stud horses needing additional nutritional support. It may also suit horses prone to laminitis, insulin resistance or EMS, subject to appropriate professional feeding advice.

Moreover, the recipe supports horses that are prone to gastric issues, muscle soreness or stress. The coarse texture can also provide an alternative for horses that tend to bolt cubes. Consequently, it offers a practical option for everyday feeding, competition preparation and maintaining condition between periods of harder work.

The RED MILLS Nutrition Care package adds further nutritional support. It includes pre- and probiotics for gut health, chelated minerals for bioavailability and elevated biotin to support hoof quality. Furthermore, a natural gastric buffer and antioxidants, including vitamin C, help support gastric and immune function.

How It Works / Care / Safety

Introduce this feed gradually when changing your horse’s diet. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommended feeding rates and adjust quantities according to workload, body condition and the rest of the diet. Furthermore, provide good-quality forage alongside a balanced feeding programme and ensure fresh drinking water remains available.

For horses prone to laminitis, insulin resistance or EMS, consult your veterinary surgeon or equine nutritionist before making dietary changes. Consequently, you can ensure the overall ration meets your horse’s individual nutritional needs.
