Change in Back Protector standards

At Saddles and Style, we are committed to the safety of our customers and guarantee that all of the products sold are of the highest safety standard.

In an effort to improve rider safety, January 2018 saw a recent upgrade in the safety standard of back protectors. Organisations such as AIRC and Eventing Ireland now require competitors to only wear back protectors with the BETA Level 3, 2009 standard.

In fact, most equestrian organisations will no longer permit the use of the older BETA Level 3 back protectors with the 2000 Label. As no back protector with BETA 000 has been produced since 2011, this new rule ensures any body protectors being used is a minimum of 5 years old.

At Saddles and Style to ensure our customers safety we are only stocking back protector’s with the BETA Level 3 2009 standard.

Pop into Saddles and Style for a FREE Professional fitting with our qualified staff or log onto to view our range of body protectors.

We stock a range of styles to fit all body shapes and budgets, including; Champion Flexair, Champion Titanium, RaceSafe RS2010, Racesafe Provent.

If you have any questions about the new rule or are unsure if your back protector is up to safety standards, pop into us or call us on 021-4876756.
